It was a day of jubilation and heartfelt appreciation in Epe as the Member representing Epe Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives, Rep. Wale Raji, officially commissioned and allocated the newly constructed Ayetoro Heritage Market to traders on Tuesday, December 2, 2025.
The grand commissioning ceremony attracted top APC political leaders, government functionaries, traditional rulers, chiefs, educationists, party faithful, market men and women, and community stakeholders who gathered to witness yet another milestone achievement under Rep. Raji’s effective and progressive representation.
In his address, Rep. Wale Raji reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to the growth and welfare of his constituents, noting that the newly commissioned market is one of several infrastructural projects completed across the Epe Federal Constituency.
“We are not resting on our oars. The betterment of my constituents is paramount to me. Our tremendous achievements could not be reality without your cooperation and support,” he stated.
He added: “Today’s commissioning of Ayetoro Heritage Market is not limited to Epe alone as we have done the same across the constituency. In terms of social infrastructure development, we have done a lot, and we believe these projects are contributing immensely to the socio-economic growth of our division. More projects are still coming.”
Speaking at the event, the Lagos State APC Chairman, Hon. Cornelius Ojelabi, hailed Rep. Raji’s exemplary performance and dedication to the development of Epe and Lagos East Senatorial District.
“I am highly impressed witnessing this laudable achievement. Having leaders like Senator Tokunbo Abiru in Lagos East and Rep. Wale Raji representing Epe, I see that the ancient town of Epe is truly blessed. His credibility as a former Permanent Secretary reflects in the quality of his performance,” he said.
He urged beneficiaries to make meaningful use of the allocated shops to enhance their livelihoods.
The Oloja of Epe, HRM Oba Ishola Animashaun, also commended Rep. Raji for his consistent pursuit of developmental projects across Epe Division. While presenting the market keys to the Baba Oloja and Iya Oloja, the monarch emphasized the importance of putting the facility to productive use for the economic advancement of the community.
He further lauded the APC Epe Divisional Leader, Alhaji Shakirudeen Akanni Seriki (Bamu), for his role in fostering quality leadership and representation within the constituency.
Alhaji Seriki (Bamu), in his remarks, expressed delight over Rep. Raji’s unprecedented achievements and encouraged party members and leaders to sustain unity and teamwork for the continuous progress of APC and the development of Epe Division.
The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. (Princess) Surah O. Animashaun, described the commissioning as a victory for grassroots development, noting that the modern market symbolizes renewed economic hope for the people of Epe.
“This market will redefine trading activities by offering a safe, organized, and modern environment that empowers traders, supports small businesses, and boosts commercial vibrancy,” she noted.
She praised Rep. Raji for delivering people-focused projects and pledged her administration’s commitment to partnering with leaders who champion progress and inclusivity.
In a heartwarming conclusion to the event, the newly constructed stalls were allocated free of charge to beneficiaries, sparking overwhelming joy and celebration among market men and women.
