The rebrand addresses years of widespread misinterpretation surrounding his former stage name, which was often mistaken as a single word rather than a declarative phrase. Speaking in a recent interview, MonarchK said the change reflects personal growth and a clearer sense of artistic purpose. “‘IsHere’ was always meant to be a statement,” the artiste explained. “But as time went on, the meaning kept getting lost. MonarchK speaks directly to ownership, authorship, and my responsibility to consciously shape my legacy.”
His manager, bigTEE, described the decision as both practical and symbolic. “The name Monark IsHere already had traction, but it was constantly being misunderstood, especially online,” prince temiloluwa bayode said. “MonarchK is clean, intentional, and rooted in royalty something that naturally connects to his given name, Kingsley. It perfectly reflects the level of music and storytelling he is evolving into.”
Label representative Mr. Dayo Horesh of Oasis24 Entertainment also weighed in, describing the rebranding as an identity-driven move rather than a cosmetic change. “This wasn’t about trends or starting over,” Horesh stated. “It was about alignment. MonarchK communicates royalty, leadership, originality, and African excellence; values that already define his sound and his long-term creative vision.”
Now professionally known as MonarchK, the Nigerian Afrobeats artiste began his recording journey in 2021 with PICK UP before signing with Oasis24 Entertainment in 2024. Under the label, he released “Jay Joycie,” followed by “Chinedu” and “Liquor Rose,” expanding his catalogue and reinforcing his reputation for genre-blending music and expressive storytelling.
A graduate of Communication and Language Arts from the University of Ibadan, MonarchK is a multidisciplinary creative; an accomplished poet and actor who also serves officially as an immigration officer. He first gained national attention in 2011 after emerging as 1st Runner-Up at the Glo Rock and Rule competition.
With the adoption of the name MonarchK, the artiste signals a refined artistic direction and a renewed commitment to building a purposeful legacy across music and film, positioning himself as a focused and influential voice in contemporary African creative culture.
