Jesse Jagz, Ice Prince, Blaqbonez Tributes Chocolate City With ‘Legacy’

  

As Chocolate City marks its 20th anniversary, its honchos Jesse Jagz, Ice Prince and Blaqbonez, have stepped out with a powerful Hip Hop spinner, titled, 'Legacy’. The song is a powerful tribute to the label, saluting its impact across the African music scene. 

Produced by the acclaimed Davou brothers: Joel "Jace Kim" and Abraham "Gplus Chang", the song showcases each of the label’s rap luminaries in their outstanding Hip Hop braggado. 

This rare collaboration, representing a convergence of Chocolate City's founding era and its present generation, points to the label's enduring influence which started circa 2005. Interestingly, after the label kickstarted operations Jesse Jagz, Ice Prince and MI Abaga were among the few Nigerians spotlighting Nigeria’s Hip Hop on a global scale, with their chart-topping releases. 

Now, with a fresh crop of talent in its roster including Blaqbonez, Young Jonn, Tariq, the label is already shaping the evolution of Africa's next music wave.

"This collaboration captures the full spectrum of what we've built," Chocolate City Music CEO, Abuchi Peter Ugwu, explained. "From the pioneers who established the foundation to the artists currently dominating African hip-hop globally."

Further, ‘Legacy’ arrives on the heels of its founders’ birthdays Audu Maikori and Paul Okeugo, who shaped the music empire’s evolution across the African music business in the past two decades. 

As the record label’s artistes soar on global stages, the label is also renowned locally for its impact across talent management and content creation for African musicians, positioning itself as a cultural institution and creative powerhouse.

"Legacy" is available across streaming platforms.
